I liked the prior release a whole lot but "Tome II" is miles beyond that record in all respects: songwriting, technical playing and, most importantly, the production which adds another layer of power to these songs. Honestly just check the song "Both of Me" which is one of those album openers that demonstrates not only how far Grave Circles have come as a band but also sets the stage for the passionate self-destruction that follows. Holy hell is this good.

I can't stand most of war metal, mainly because of the total indifference to THE RIFF (which I consider to be the most important thing), but these lads are well above your average war metal band that's just following a trend (and it shows)! Aggressive, diversified, with an original imagery, a really great and big sound, some truly impressive vocals and... VERY GOOD RIFFS! This is an unbelievable exception for me! *bleats in sheer joy*
